Final Friday Art Opening: Phil Wassell

Join us for the opening night for artist Phil Wassell. His art will hang in the gallery from March 31 til April 24, 2023.

Artist Statement:

As humans we attempt to separate ourselves from our diverse community of earthlings. The ideas of coexistence and peace need to extend beyond different nations and religions to include all life on our planet. This collection of work is asking us to consider the impact we have on our fellow earthlings and also admire their attempts to live their true lives despite the obstacles we throw in their way. Our fellow earthlings often do not find their way into our present minds. I believe the act of holding space for them in our minds will precede holding space for them in the world. The ideas of coexistence and peace must extend beyond nations, religions, and humanity to include all life on this planet. This collection of works by Phil Wassell asks us to nurture compassion for our fellow earthlings. He believes the act of holding space for them in our minds will improve how we hold space for them in the world. Come see the collection and find a piece to serve as a reminder for you. Half of the profits made from this exhibition will go towards funding those who are helping our community of earthlings here in the North Fork Valley: Citizens for a Healthy Community and The Western Slope Conservation Center. Phil has created everything from stickers to paintings, so everyone can participate in this cause.
